Chapman Cora S. Pepe Mamma found her joy in life was in her God given role as a daughter, wife to Thomas E. Pepe Sr. for 44 years, mother of 3 daughters, Desi, Kim, and Jenny, and 1 son, Thomas Jr. ( "Ed"). But her biggest kick was in being a grandmother to Brent, Corrie, Nathan, Mariah, Alexis, & George Jr. We used to tease " GiGi" about spoiling our children, but we so looked forward to the times of Birthdays and Christmas, to discover what treasures from her we would all receive. There wasn't a day that went by when she didn't call or receive our calls , so we could share our lives with her as we all grew older. The greatest gift I received from her, however, was that day about 2 months before God called her home, when she sat at her kitchen table and shared with me her testimony of how she accepted Christ while a young girl at a little country church in Ky. Although her later years had been filled with an advancing illness, her eyes shone bright that day , as she gave me the gift of the peace of knowing that even if we were separated in this life, one day we would be back together eternally in Paradise with Jesus our Lord. After she was called home, and I began working on my poetry collections, her love was the inspiration for the poem entitled " One lasting Kiss" If you click and read it, I hope you will get a sense of the unconditional love she gave to us, and we to her.
